Dr. Stacey Shaw

Program Director of Extra Mile Military Care Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital.

Dr. Stacey Shaw is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Florida and Washington.

Dr. Shaw earned BA degrees in Criminology and Social Work from the University of South Florida. She furthered her studies with earning a Master's degree in Social Work with a specialized focus in Substance Use Disorders from the University of South Florida. Dr. Shaw recently earned her doctorate degree in Social Work from the University of Tennessee, where she studied suicide rates within the military.

Dr. Shaw is an advocate for suicide prevention and is dedicated to making everlasting changes in the lives of individuals that she encounters through her work in the community. She also advocates for the understanding and acceptance of the difficulties that surround mental health and substance abuse. Dr. Shaw is certified in the states of Florida and Washington, as well as, national and international certificates in Addiction and Chemical Dependency.

Armed with an understanding of addictions, social work, and military care, Dr. Shaw is positioned to assist military soldiers, veterans, and family members in the Extra Mile Military Care program.

Extra Mile Military Care™ provides inpatient care for US Military, Guard, Reserves, Veterans and their families. The evidence-based program is specially designed for behavioral health and substance use disorders. The vision of the program is to see patients succeed in his or her personal and professional lives.
